DANDRUFF TREATMENT

Hi Guys,Today as I waked up Early Morning ,I have seen my friends talking about Dandruff and so they can't losse their Hair,as everyone can see their dandruff allover their hair. So,my bulblighed and todays topic is Dandruff.

So what is Dandruff really?
Dandruff is a kind of skin disorder that affects the scalp. Dandruff is a condition in which white, dry flakes of dead skin are shed from the scalp. Normally dead skin cells are shed from the scalp, but it results in dandruff only when the scalp starts shedding thick layers of these dead skin particles.
We call Dandruff as Seborrheic dermatitis or Seborrhoea sometimes.Seborrheic dermatitis or Seborrhoea is a disorder of the sebaceous glands which affects the scalp. Seborrhoea produces severe dandruff and a red, itchy scalp.

Did Dandruff causes Hair Loss or Baldness?
As much as I know not really.Dandruff rarely causes hair loss or baldness but severe seborrheic dermatitis may cause patchy baldness.Often, scalp seborrhea doesn't even itch significantly.

When It Really Starts in Human?
Dandruff can appear during infancy, starting shortly after birth and lasting several months. It may affect the scalp ("cradle cap") or produce scaly patches on the body. Adults of all ages may develop Dandruff, too, especially on the scalp and face.

Other than Scalp,in which part of body do Dandruff can appear?
It occurs in parts of the body with high oil (sebum) production. Body areas that are commonly affected include the scalp, ears, face, chest, and folds of skin, such as the underarms or the skin below breasts or overhanging abdominal folds. The cause of seborrhea is unknown.
On the face, seborrhea produces reddish-brown, dry-looking, or thick, greasy scales on the eyebrows, sides of the nose, and behind the ears. Reddish, scaly patches may also appear in the folds of skin mentioned above. Although skin affected by seborrhea may feel "dry," moisturizing only makes them redder.

Is Health a problem for Dandruff?
Some people who have weakened immune systems, such as those on chemotherapy or those with HIV disease or certain neurological disorders, may have very severe Dandruff. The vast majority of those who have it are completely healthy and have no internal or immune problems.

Tell me a Treatment to avoid Dandruff?
Since dandruff is a natural process it cannot be eliminated, it can only be controlled. The most simple treatment is frequent and effective shampooing of the hair and the scalp. Mild dandruff can be treated by regularly shampooing the scalp with a mild, non-medicated shampoo. If this does not help, a medicated dandruff shampoo can be used. Shampoos containing cytostatic agent, such as selenium sulphide or zinc pyrithione can be used. Shampoos containing selenium sulphide should not be used if there is a cut or abrasion on the scalp. Other ingredients in the shampoos that treat dandruff are coal tar preparartions, salicylic acid, sulfur and a combination of salicylic acid and sulphur. Nizoral AD, is a shampoo that specifically targets P.ovale and treats flaking and itching caused by it.
